Haha...the USA is the same. The world revolves around football (American style that is).
Mainstream sports media in the USA is heavily into NFL and college football with some baseball and NBA/college basketball during their respective seasons. For motorsports NASCAR is the only one that really gets any sports news coverage...F1 and MotoGP aren't even mentioned.
In the USA you won't hear anything about MX/SX or off-road unless you are watching a motorcycle specific sports news show. I wouldn't expect anything different as most people just aren't into dirt bikes and don't really understand the sport.
